First things first, the Sony Ericsson R306i is not a Radio albeit it may look like one but it is in fact a Mobile Phone with a radio interface that lets you tune in to FM and AM radio stations using the preset channel buttons.
When you’ve selected the channel you want to listen to, the radio station details will automatically appear on the external monochrome display and why not set your favourite station as your alarm call.
Weight: 93 g
Talktime: 9 hours
Standby time: 410 hrs
Dimensions: 90 x 47.9 x 15.8 mm
.
The Sony Ericsson R306i even has the ability to record from playback and the built-in stereo speakers ensure high quality sound whilst background noise is easily drowned out with 3D sound enhancement and volume boost using the dedicated Audio Enhancer Key.
Open up the clamshell and you have a mobile phone. Pretty neat, huh!
Apart from the FM/AM Receiver the
Sony Ericsson R306i offers some other interesting features too.
There’s the 1.3 mega pixel camera with video, MP3 Player, TrackID music recognition, image viewer, picture editing software, speakerphone, web browser and email.
Share images and files with Bluetooth or download to your PC via a USB connection.
Fantastic in either Champagne White or Coffee Black, the
Sony Ericsson R306i makes for a perfect travelling companion.

Two new phones from Sony Ericsson of late are the R300i and R306i models, both of which sport an FM/AM Receiver.
Unlike its sibling the R306i, the Sony Ericsson R300i does look like a normal candybar handset but still offers exactly the same functionality in terms of having the ability to record from playback and set as your alarm clock with well placed dedicated keys and an audio enhancement function for 3D sound enhancement and volume boost.
Track ID means that you can record a clip of any song and TrackID will identify the artist, song title and album name in seconds.
Weight: 75 g
Talktime: 9 hours
Standby time: 400 hrs
Dimensions: 101 x 46 x 12 mm
.
When it comes to speakers though, the Radio channels on the
Sony Ericsson R300i are played through a dedicated loudspeaker whilst the R306i version does offer built-in stereo speakers, but the option of course to play through stereo headphones is available with both.
With Bluetooth Wireless Technology you can go handsfree on voice calls or share images and files with any compatible bluetooth device within a 10 metre radius.
The Sony Ericsson R300i comes with its own VGA camera and MP3 Player plus Java games, web browser and email.
Edit photos before sharing with friends and family via MMS, using picture editing software or simply download to your PC using the USB connection.
Available in a choice of either Antique Copper or Steel Black, the
Sony Ericsson R300i Radio has a number of features to help keep you organised, for instance the 1000 entry phonebook with photo call, calendar, notes, task, timer and voice memo functions.

The Sony Ericsson T270i, along with the Sony Ericsson T280i, are two of the latest phones to be added to Sony Ericsson’s T Series of handsets.
Keeping it simple yet fun, the Sony Ericsson T270i / T270 comes with a built-in FM Radio with RDS for tuning into your favourite radio station and keeping you entertained and the all important Java games for keeping those troublesome fingers busy.
The navigation key has been stylishly embossed whilst the metal detail of this phone adds to its sleek appearance.
Weight: 82 g
Talktime: 7 hours
Standby time: 300 hrs
Dimensions: 100 x 45 x 13 mm
.
Weighing a mere 82g makes this an extremely lightweight phone and there is a choice of either Silver on Black or Copper on Silver colour tones to choose from.
Just like its close relative the Sony Ericsson T280i, the T270i offers an impressive 7 hours of talktime and 300 hours of standby making it even more unlikely that you’ll be cut short of an important conversation.
Transfer images and files via Bluetooth Wireless, keep in touch with friends via SMS and MMS messaging or view online content with the web browser.
A funfilled phone, the
Sony Ericsson T270i comes with a inexpensive price tag you’ll be pleased to hear and a clear 1.7 inch TFT screen display.
Other features include a 1000 entry phonebook, built-in handsfree, voice memo calendar, calculator, alarm clock, stopwatch, tasks and timer to help keep you organised at all times.
The only real downside to the
Sony T270i is its 10MB internal memory which is not expandable unfortunately, but all things considered you’re not likely to need more than this anyway.
