Blackberry 8130 Pearl Red - Release and Review

The second generation Blackberry Pearl is here and making quite an impact.
Shortly after having announced the Blackberry Pearl 8120 and Blackberry 8120 Red, RIM have us all crowding round to see the Blackberry Pearl 8130 in Red.
The Blackberry 8130 is equipped with a GPS Satellite Navigation System and Blackberry Maps.

Although a Quad Band GSM device with GPRS, the Red Blackberry Pearl 8130 does not carry WiFi capabilities like its 8120 counterpart but is 3G enabled.
It features the same noise cancellation on the microphone, Trackball and Qwerty keyboard with SureType software.
With a 2 mega pixel camera, updated visual interface, video record, Media Player and Wireless Email, the Red Blackberry Pearl 8130 is far from lacking when it comes to multimedia features.
The Media Player is accompanied by a 3.5mm headset jack, A2DP Bluetooth, an external microSDHC slot and music software which allows you to rip your own music and create playlists on your PC which can then be downloaded directly onto your mobile device using a straightforward USB connection.
The first smartphone to support CDMA networks, the Blackberry Pearl 8130 Red offering the full Blackberry experience, is not just smart but powerful and stylish.

With everything and anything needed to manage and organise both your life and work, the Blackberry®  Pearl™ 8110 provides the complete solution.
The smallest and lightest of smartphones to date, the Blackberry Pearl 8110 comes with RIM’s famous trackball navigation and a half Qwerty Keyboard with SureType keyboard software.  The half size keyboard makes perfect sense when trying to keep the handset as slim as possible which measures just 14mm.

Built-in GPS Navigation is a pretty much standard feature of most smartphones these days, however the Blackberry Pearl 8110 doesn’t stop there with its abilities.
The internal memory available is 64MB which happily can be expanded via the microSD card slot, the 2 mega pixel camera includes a built-in flash, digital zoom and video recording capabilities and then there’s the Media Player which will allow you the pleasure of listening to your music anytime any place, for which the 3.5mm headset jack will coming in handy.
Other features include web browser, email, document viewer, built-in handsfree and bluetooth wireless with A2DP stereo support.
You can even update your blog or keep in touch with friends and family using the integrated support for Facebook social network.
The Blackberry Pearl 8110 is a Quad GSM device with GPRS support, EDGE technology and USB connectivity but unfortunately does not offer WiFi.
On the other hand if you just can’t imagine your life without WiFi then an option would be to look at the Blackberry Pearl 8120 which can do everything that the 8110 can do but includes WiFi capabilities.

Blackberry 8830 / Blackberry 8830v Release

Meet the new RIM Blackberry 8830 World Edition smartphone which makes up part of the existing 8800 Series recently released. 

Codenamed Cyclone, the Blackberry 8830v features Verizon Wireless technology and looks stunning in Silver and its full Qwerty keyboard and trackball roller makes for easier typing and menu migration.

A Quad Band handset, the Blackberry 8830 smartphone, unsurprisingly reminds you of the Blackberry 8800 in both looks and functionality offering an almost identical specification list expect for the fact that the Blackberry 8830v is far more compact, lighter and stylish.

A result of combining GSM and CDMA roaming and the first of its kind to successfully do so, the Blackberry 8830 offers EDGE technology for additional data roaming in up to 62 countries.

Set to be released sometime in mid May to the beginning of June, the Blackberry 8830v, one of Verizon’s test subjects, comes with expandable memory and extended battery life which allows for up to 216 hours of standby on CDMA and an incredibly 384 hours on GSM, that’s 16 days!
